This personal data protection policy (the “Policy”) has been drafted to allow you to understand the practices and conditions under which VDC Languages collects, uses and retains your personal data (the “Data”).
Here you will find the various Data that we may collect and process, or that you may provide to us, when you access and/or use our website.
Given the constant evolution of laws and regulations relating to technology and personal data protection, this Policy is likely to be updated.
If you are subscribed to this Site’s newsletter, you will be informed of any changes by email. Should any clause of this Policy be declared void or contrary to applicable regulations, it will be deemed unwritten but will not result in the nullity of the other clauses of this Policy.

When visiting the website www.vdclanguages.be without registering (login or otherwise) on a secure area, VDC Languages does not collect personal data. We collect information only when you register on our site, when you log into your account, make a purchase, enter a contest, and/or when you log out. VDC Languages may record certain information for statistical, administrative or Site improvement purposes, without this allowing the disclosure of personal data or the identification of an individual visitor.
In summary, we may collect the following Data:
- Your email address will necessarily be requested if you wish to create a user account, communicate with us via the contact forms and/or receive our Newsletter;
- Data relating to your identity, such as your last name, first name, email address, and phone number, may be requested;
- Browsing Data: this refers to Data relating to how you use the Sites, including: IP address, browser used, browsing duration, search history, operating system used, language and pages viewed;
- Data concerning your visits to our Sites, including traffic data, log files and other data or communication resources you use when accessing our Sites;
- Order-related Data: your postal address is necessary for issuing invoices. Likewise, your bank details must be provided in order to process payment for your order;

3) Data confidentiality
We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. Your personal information will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason whatsoever, without your consent, other than as necessary to fulfil a request and/or transaction, such as shipping an order.
4) Data retention period
VDC Languages retains your Data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in Article 2. This retention period is not the same for all Data, as the nature and purpose of the collection may cause this period to vary. Likewise, certain legal obligations impose a specific retention period. When you are subscribed to the Newsletter, we retain your email address until you unsubscribe.
When you contact VDC Languages via the various contact forms, email, or by phone, your data will be retained for up to five (5) years from the last contact. Regarding your user account, your billing data is retained for ten (10) years from the date of purchase. The rest of your data will be retained for five (5) years from your request to deactivate your user account. Your bank card details, for any purchase, will be retained for thirteen (13) months from the date of debit, in case of any disputes over the transaction. When requested, your Site user account will be deactivated, then fully deleted after the periods mentioned above, starting from the day you made the request.
Finally, regarding Data collected via cookies or trackers, it will be retained for up to six (6) months for audience-measurement cookies or trackers, and up to thirteen (13) months for others. Beyond the retention periods mentioned above, your Data will be anonymized and retained solely for statistical purposes.
5) Protection of personal data
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the security of your personal information. We use state-of-the-art encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online. We also protect your information offline. Only employees who need to carry out a specific task (for example, billing or customer service) have access to personally identifiable information.
